Navalny’s ally was imprisoned in Moscow on charges of extremism

An ally of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny was arrested on Saturday for allegedly inciting extremism on the Internet.

Pavel Zelensky, a member of the Anti-Corruption Foundation, was ordered to imprisonment by the Presnensky District Court the day before Navalny returned to Russia after being poisoned in August and fled to Germany for treatment.

Navalny announced last week that he planned to return to Russia on January 17 after he was poisoned in an attack widely believed to have been ordered by the Kremlin.
