Filming is currently underway in California. Arnon Milchan of New Regency will be produced alongside Matthew Bodman and Anthony Catagas.
Russell has not released a movie since Joy in 2015, starring Jennifer Lawrence in the role that earned her an Academy Award nomination. Deadline broke the story of his current project early last year. New Regency will distribute the pic through its deal with 20th Century Studios.
